Andrea Pirlo the latest to be linked with vacant Red Devils job

HLN are reporting that former Italy and Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo is a candidate to replace Roberto Martinez as the head coach of the Red Devils. Martinez, who recently became the national coach for Portugal, left the Belgian national team following their disappointing group stage exit at the 2022 World Cup.

Pirlo, who has had managerial stints with Juventus and is currently managing in Turkey with Fatih Karagumruk. The side, which includes former Club Brugge striker Mbaye Diagne, is 10th in the Turkish Super Lig. According to HLN, Pirlo has submitted his CV to the Belgian FA.

Alongside Pirlo, another famous name linked to the role is Thierry Henry. The former Barcelona and Arsenal forward has been coaching with the side for the past few years. Leading players in the Red Devils squad, such as Romelu Lukaku and Toby Alderweireld have voiced their support for Henry becoming the next head coach.
