Anderlecht working on Thorgan Hazard deal with Dortmund

HLN are reporting that Anderlecht are currently working on a deal to sign Thorgan Hazard. The brother of Eden has still got one year left on his Borussia Dortmund contract, but having spent last season on loan at PSV it is clear he is no longer part of the sides plans for this season. HLN is stating that no deal appears imminent between the clubs and then the player.

The 30-year-old last played in Belgium between 2012 and 2014 when he spent two seasons on loan at Zulte Waregem. In his first season at Zulte Waregem, he grabbed five goals in 37 games, before 17 in 53 during the second season. Both of these spells came while he was at Chelsea, although he never made a first team appearance for the side from London. In 2014 he joined Borussia Mönchengladbach on loan before making the move permanent the following season. In five years with the Bundesliga side he played 182 games and scored 46 goals. Hazard joined current side Dortmund in the summer of 2019 and has gone on to score 18 goals in 123 games.

During his loan deal with PSV, Hazard played 13 games and scored twice in the second half of the 2023 season.

Anderlecht are also set to sign Kasper Schmeichel in the coming days.
