Anderlecht showing serious interest in Heerenveen defender Milan van Ewijk

Anderlecht are showing serious interest in Heerenveen right-back Milan van Ewijk, according to Voetbal International. The talented 22-year-old has featured 40 times in all competitions this season, helping Heerenveen to an eighth-place finish in the Eredivisie.

On Sunday, the club’s technical director, Ferry de Haan revealed ‘A club has asked us for information about Milan [van Ewijk]’. It has since been made clear that Anderlecht is the club showing serious interest in the Dutch defender. An offer is set to be made soon by the Belgian Pro League side. In the last six months PSV, Fulham and Sporting Lisbon have also shown interest in the former Den Haag defender.

Speaking about Van Ewijk’s potential departure, Ferry de Haan said ‘Milan’s ambitions are known. At the moment there is no offer on the table with me, but if an offer arises that can be good for both him and us, we will seriously consider it.’

Van Ewijk’s current contract with Heerenveen doesn’t expire until 2025. This means an attractive fee will be required to pull him away from the Abe Lenstra Stadion. Van Ewijk is also a Netherlands U21 international which will add to his transfer value.
