Anderlecht set to replace Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen with Maxime Dupé

Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Anderlecht are set to announce the signing of Maxime Dupé on a free-transfer. The now former Toulouse goalkeeper will replace Bart Verbruggen as the sides number one, with the Dutchman having joined Brighton in recent weeks. 30-year-old Dupé has spent the previous three seasons with Toulouse, helping them return to Ligue 1.

Dupé began his career with Nantes, where he made 64 appearances for the first team before leaving in 2019 on loan to Clermont Foot, where he made 27 appearances. For Toulouse, he made 116.

Dupé will become the clubs third signing of the summer, and their second from France. Anderlecht signed Kasper Dolberg from Nice, with coach Brian Riemer already stating the he believes the Danish forward is too good for the club. They also brought in highly rated OH Leuven youngster Louis Patris. The Belgian youth international had an impressive breakout season for OHL and there were a number of clubs that were reportedly interested in signing him.
