Anderlecht looking to bring Mats Rits to Lotto Park

Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Anderlecht are in talks with Club Brugge over the signing of central midfielder Mats Rits. The 30-year-old Belgian is believed to be surplus to requirements at Ronny Deila’s side. He currently has just one more year on his current contract with the Blue and Black.

Rits suffered a bad injury during the 2021/2022 season which saw his 2022/2023 campaign suffer. Prior to his injury, Rits was having his best season at Club Brugge with seven goals and five assists in 33 games. Last season, he managed two goals ad one assist in 20 games. Since joining the side from KV Mechelen, the Rits has played 197 games for the club, scoring 23 goals and providing 18 assists.

Rits did have time in the Ajax academy before he joined KV Mechelen in the winter of 2013. The former Belgian youth international did not make a first team appearance for the Amsterdam side. During his time at Malinwa he amassed 166 games with 16 goals scored and 22 assists provided.
