With Sergio Gomez set to leave for Manchester City, Anderlecht have identified New York Red Bullsโ John Tolkin as a potential replacement.
It was widely reported on Thursday night that Man City and Anderlecht have reached an agreement for the transfer of Gomez, with the Belgian club receiving around โฌ15 million for the Spaniard.
As a result, theyโre in need of a new left-back, and Sacha Tavolieri has reported that theyโve identified 20-year-old Tolkin as an ideal replacement.
The American has been an important player for New York Red Bulls in the past two seasons, starting the vast majority of their matches, playing as both a full-back in a back four and as a wing-back in a back five.
Signing him wonโt be easy by any means, with Tavolieri stating that there are also clubs in the top divisions of France and Portugal that are interested in him.
