RSC Anderlecht have strengthened their back-line with Adryelson (26). The Brazilian centre-back joins on loan from Olympique Lyon until the end of the season in a deal that includes an option to buy.
The 6 ft 0 defender kickstarted his career at Sport Recife in Brazil, playing 126 games in both the Brazilian first and second division. In the summer of 2022, he made the move to Botafogo and in the 2023 season, he went from strength to strength to be included in the Brazilian team of the year.
After a further season and a half, he was acquired by Olympique Lyon in January 2024, who loaned him to Botafogo again in September. On his return to ‘the Lone Star’, Adryelson was part of the team that was crowned Brazil’s national champion. He also featured in the starting line-up in the Copa Libertadores final when Botafogo beat Atlético Mineiro 3-1.
Upon the Brazilian’s arrival to Belgium, Anderlecht’s Sports Director Olivier Renard beamed:
“We are delighted to welcome Adryelson to RSC Anderlecht. Adryelson has just won the Brazilian national title and the Copa Libertadores, so he will certainly bring us additional leadership and experience in the heart of defense.”
