Anderlecht board and players remain confident in Felice Mazzu’s abilities

Despite Anderlecht’s poor start to the season, manager Felice Mazzu is still the right man for the job in the eyes of the board and players.

Things haven’t gone well for the club since Mazzu took over from Vincent Kompany with them sitting tenth in the Pro League after 10 matches with just four wins to their name.

After the 1-0 defeat at home to Sporting Charlerioi, many fans called for him to be sacked, but according to journalist Peter Vandenbempt, the board have no plans to do so, with the players also happy with their coach.

“The situation at Anderlecht is worrying, but the board and the group of players remain behind the coach,” he said on Sporza.

“Internally everything is clear,” he later added.

“The players stand right behind their coach, who insists on grinta, passion and more vertical football. The board also believes that the coach will turn the tide.”
