Anderlecht and Gent showing interest in Ajax’s Belgian youth international

Kjell Doms is reporting that Anderlecht and Gent are showing interest in Ajax teenager Stanis Idumbo-Muzambo. The 18-year-old is a Belgian youth international who has made 10 appearances for Jong Ajax int he Dutch second tier, scoring three goals. Anderlecht are looking into the possibility of convincing the teenager to swap Amsterdam for Brussels in order to get more game time, with the likelihood that he would be playing regularly for Anderlecht Futures in the Belgian second tier. Gent do not have a side in the Challenger Pro League, but they do have Jong KAA Gent in the third tier.

Idumbo-Muzambo is also eligible to play for both France and the DR Congo at international level. He began his career with the Club Brugge youth set-up, before moving over to Gent and then on to Ajax. Anderlecht can certainly point to other examples of young players who have chosen to join them getting plenty of chances in the Challenger Pro League. Former Rangers teenager Robbie Ure swapped Glasgow for Brussels in the summer and has already began to make a name for himself in the second tier. So far, 19-year-old Ure has scored five goals in nine games, playing the full 90 minutes in all but two of those matches.
