Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Ameen Al-Dakhil is no longer training with Sint-Truiden and has played his last game for the club. The 20 year-old Belgian youth international is set to join Championship leaders Burnley within the next couple of days.
Al-Dakhil joined the Canaries from Standard Liege last season and has been a key member of one of the best defensive teams in the league. He has made 16 appearances for the team this season.
Al-Dakhil holds dual nationality, having been born in Baghdad but grew up in Belgium. He has been capped by Belgium at all youth levels up to U21.
Sint-Truiden have already lost one player this transfer window, with experienced midfielder Christian Brüls moving to Zulte Waregem after he and Sint-Truiden could not agree on a contract extension.
Burnley brought in many players from the Pro League in the summer, such as Manuel Benson, Samuel Bastien, Anass Zaroury and Vitinho.
