Alfred Schreuder confident no players will leave Ajax amid English interest in Antony and Edson Alvarez

Alfred Schreuder says he’s confident that no further players will leave Ajax in this transfer window amid interest in Antony and Edson Alvarez from Manchester United and Newcastle.

Ajax have already lost a number of first-team players this summer and the exodus may not be over yet with Antony wanting to leave for Man Utd and Newcastle keen to sign Alvarez.

While many expect the former move, in particular, to happen though, Schreuder is operating on the assumption that no further players will leave for other clubs.

“We have now sold a lot of players,” the Ajax manager told ESPN.

“That has not happened in recent years. We have sold so many that I assume that no one will leave.

“It would not be good for us if we sell another basic player.”

Ajax have thus far rejected all approaches from Man Utd and Newcastle for both players, despite the huge fees being offered.
