Alfred Schreuder confident Ajax can get good result against Napoli

Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder is confident that his side are good enough to get a good result against Napoli.

Things haven’t gone too well for Ajax in recent times with the Eredivisie champions losing to Liverpool and AZ before drawing 1-1 to Go Ahead Eagles.

Another defeat to Napoli will make it difficult for them to get out of their Champions League group, but despite the poor form they’ve been in, Schreuder fancies his side’s chances.

“It is certainly possible against Napoli. We also have many international players on the pitch with qualities that can certainly come to the fore against Napoli,” he said.

“In terms of the size of the club and budget, Liverpool is the big favourite, but in the way they play, Napoli come very close. “Tomorrow there will be two equal styles of play on the pitch.”

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has arguably been Napoli’s stand-out player this season, and the Dutchman admitted he’ll be a big threat.

“A very good player,” he said.

“He is doing very well this season and has a lot of individual qualities. We have to defend him as a team.”
