Al-Ettifaq unlikely to sell Jordan Henderson to Ajax despite England international eyeing multi-year contract with Dutch giants

De Telegraaf are reporting that Jordan Henderson wants to sign a two and a half-year contract with Ajax this winter. However, the Dutch side are still waiting on his current side to begin negotiations on a figure. The Daily Mail is also reporting that the Saudi side are holding out as they do not want to sell their summer signing just a few months after bringing him to the club.

Al-Ettifaq understandably do not want to see a player that signed a contract until 2026 leave so quickly after arriving. Since leaving Liverpool in the summer, the England international has made 17 appearances for his new side, providing four assists. Henderson was just one of a number of high profile players who joined the league this summer, but he appears to be the first to be having second thoughts so soon after making the move.

Ajax are currently fifth in the Eredivisie following a 3-2 win over Go Ahead Eagles at the weekend.
