Ajax’s Dusan Tadic fights off two attackers in violent robbery attempt outside his home

Dusan Tadic was attacked by two men outside his home in Amsterdam but escaped relatively unharmed after a short fight.

De Telegraaf reported that the Ajax captain got out of his car near his home and soon noticed that two men wearing helmets were following him.

He then tried to flee but was caught by the pair. A scuffle followed in which he opened the visor of one of the attacker’s helmets and struck them in the face.

After that, he managed to escape and went into a nearby shop where the police were called. De Telegraaf say he was most likely targeted for his expensive watch, and according to NOS, nobody has been arrested yet.

It is thought that the above incident is the reason why Tadic was wearing medical tape on his right hand during the Johan Cruijff Schaal against PSV.

This isn’t the first occurrence of a top Eredivisie player being targeted in recent times with then-PSV player Eran Zahavi and his family being attacked in their home last May.

NOS state that a similar thing could have happened with Tadic’s family, with two men pretending to be pizza delivery drivers ringing the doorbell when he was away and his wife, suspicious of them, not answering.
