Liverpool’s James McConnell is expected to become Ajax’s new number six. The Amsterdam club are nearing a loan agreement with the Reds.
Voetbal International’s Tim van Duijn reports that manager John Heitinga is optimistic surrounding a loan deal for the 20-year-old midfielder. Initially, Ajax were targeting a player with more experience. However, with the failed move for Edson Álvarez, and Heitinga knowing McConnell from his time on Merseyside, this move brought about compromise.
