According to Voetbal International, Ajax are closing in on the signing of Elgyn Hato from Sparta Rotterdam’s youth academy. Elgyn is the 13-year-old brother of current Ajax star Jorrel Hato. The upcoming switch comes as no surprise, as the Amsterdam club have been working on a deal for sometime now.
Ajax are set to sign three Sparta Rotterdam youngsters, with Elgyn Hato being one of them. They’ll, join the youth ranks at Ajax where an opportunity to eventually progress into the first team will be available. Sparta will receive an unknown compensation fee for the moves.
Jorrel Hato plays at the heart of Ajax’s defence, whilst Elgyn Hato plays in the centre of midfield. Elgyn will join Ajax’s Under-14’s. ‘I haven’t given him any advice, because the choice is up to him. He has to decide for himself where he would like to go,’ Jorrel Hato said in March, when asked about Ajax’s interest in his younger brother. The move is reportedly almost over the line.
