Ajax are set to be without Chuba Akpom and Josip Šutalo for this Thursday’s clash against Ludogorets. Voetbal International reports that both players are yet to be registered for the match by UEFA and Akpom is still waiting on his work permit having joined last Wednesday.
Last week Ajax completed the signings of Chuba Akpom (27) from Middlesbrough, Josip Šutalo (23) from Dinamo Zagreb and Anton Gaaei (20) from Viborg FF. Gaaei will be available to play for Ajax for the first time as he has been registered by UEFA. Akpom and Šutalo will most likely have to wait for their Ajax debuts.
Ajax will travel to Bulgaria this week to take on Ludogorets in the Europa League playoffs. Next week the Bulgarian champions will travel to Amsterdam for the second leg. Ajax had to settle for Europa League football after finishing third in the Eredivisie last season.
