Ajax are open to giving Edson Alvarez his wish and letting him join Chelsea in January.
On the night that the Dutch transfer window closed and a day before the English one did so, Chelsea offered Ajax €50m for the Mexcian midfielder.
He desperately wanted to make the move and refused to train in an attempt to force Ajax to let him go, but they didn’t cave to his demands.
According to De Telegraaf though, they are open to selling him to Chelsea in January when the transfer window re-opens.
“Now he just wants to make that transfer to Chelsea,” said Mike Verweij on the Kick Off Football podcast.
“If there is a club that has fifty million for you and wants to give you ten million euros net per year … He really wanted to go. He was quite broken.
“A winter transfer is one of the possibilities. In the coming days, that will be discussed with Chelsea.”
