Ajax drawn against Bodø/Glimt in the Europa Conference League: Can the Dutch giants break their poor record against Norwegian sides?

Ajax will face Bodø/Glimt in the interim round of the Europa Conference League. John Van ‘t Schip’s side managed to remain in Europe last week after their victory over AEK Athens, to finish third in their Europa League group and earn a place in the Conference League. The Amsterdammers will face Bodø/Glimt in February, in what will most certainly be a tough task given their previous record against Norwegian sides.

According to Opta Johan, Ajax have won just 25% of their European games against Norwegian sides (W3 D5 L4). That’s their lowest win percentage against any country’s teams faced at least ten times in club history.

Bodø/Glimt recently claimed their third Norwegian title, having won 22 of their 30 matches played in the 2023 campaign. They have some incredibly talented players, Amahl Pellegrino, Patrick Berg and Faris Moumbagna to name a few. It’ll definitely be a tricky test for Ajax who have just dropped points at home to PEC Zwolle. The ties will take place on the 15th and 22nd of February.
