Ajax announce five-year collaboration with Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense to scout and develop talent in South America

Ajax will collaborate with Brazilian Série A side Athletico Paranaense on scouting and development in South America. The exclusive collaboration will last for five years, with an option to extend for five more seasons. Ajax’s main focus throughout the duration of the partnership will be to scout and develop talent in Brazil.

A statement on the club website reveals that the collaboration ‘allows Ajax to strengthen its worldwide football network and further develop recognising and selecting talent. For Athletico-PR, this collaboration opens the way to Europe. Besides that, the Brazilian club can use Ajax’s learning methods for its youth academy.’

In 2018 and 2021, Athletico Paranaense won the Conmebol Sudamericana. They were runners-up in the Conmebol Libertadores in 2005 and 2022. Now, the two club’s will work together to improve and develop the next generation of Brazilian talent. In the past, Athletico-PR have produced the likes of Alex Sandro, Neto, Renan Lodi and Marcão.
