Owen Wijndal (25) has the chance to revive his career at Spanish side Leganes as De Telegraaf report. The Amsterdammers are reported to have a verbal agreement with the 15th-placed side.
Wijndal is almost set to spend the rest of the term with the Madrid club, with costs amounting to more than one million euros.
However, while the agreement is in place, the player is yet to confirm whether he’d like to play relegation-battling football. It seems that Wijndal wants to wait for a better club.
So far this season, it’s been clear that Wijndal is not in Francesco Farioli’s plans. This has nothing to do with his qualities or commitment but with his salary. The Zaandam player signed his five-year contract in financially better times and, according to sources, would earn almost 2.5 million euros annually.
Wijndal was acquired from AZ for 10 million euros in the summer of 2022. In 39 matches for Ajax, Wijndal has yet to score but has provided six assists. Last season, he was loaned to Royal Antwerp.
