Ajax and Anderlecht stars Mika Godts and Nathan De Cat earn first Belgian Red Devils call ups

Young talents Nathan De Cat and Mika Godts have both been included in the Belgian Red Devils squad by Rudi Garcia for the upcoming March friendlies. De Cat, at just 17-years-old, is the youngest player to be called up to the first team. He has been in great form for Anderlecht and, despite his age, has quickly emerged as one of the Mauves key players. Godts, who was part of the Genk academy, has been in great form for Ajax. However, the Belgian FA had hoped he would start with the U21 team instead, as he had already turned down a few call ups. However, injuries in attack have meant that Garcia had little choice but to include Godts.

Both the Ajax and Anderlecht youngsters will have their chance to impress in the upcoming friendlies against two of the World Cup host nations in the USA and Mexico. Both will hope to earn the chance to prove themselves and convince Garica to take them to the World Cup this summer.

Despite suffering from an injury hit season with Napoli, Kevin De Bruyne has also been included alongside De Cat in midfield. In terms of Pro League representation, Hans Vanaken is the only other player currently playing in the Belgian domestic league who has been made part of the squad.
