Former Oranje and PSV star Ibrahim Afellay enjoyed Go Ahead Eagles’ performance this weekend and took particular notice of Oliver Antman.
Although the Deventer team eventually drew 2-2 against FC Utrecht, the former international was delighted with what he saw and predicts a transfer for the 23-year-old Finnish right winger.
“We could do a column about Go Ahead Eagles every week. Man, they play great football…”, Afellay began at Studio Voetbal. “They had so many chances. FC Utrecht were completely overrun. It was a miracle that it was only 2-0.”
The former Eindhoven and Barcelona player then examined Antman’s game. The Finn provided two assists in the opening phase, his thirteenth and fourteenth of the season.
“That Antman is really… I think the treasurer is rubbing his hands. He’s just going to make a great transfer at the end of the season.”
The 53-time international praises the Go Ahead attacker’s decision-making and runs, among other things. “That boy is so smart. He is also technically skilled and has depth in his game. A truly great player. If I were AZ, I would take him blindly.”
