AC Milan showing interest in former Bayern Munich and Netherlands youth international striker

According to TuttoSport, AC Milan are looking to sign a new striker in January and Joshua Zirkzee has been added to their shortlist. The 22-year-old Dutchman currently plays for Bologna, where he’s scored three goals in nine appearances this season.

Milan are searching for someone who can fill the boots of 37-year-old Olivier Giroud. Zirkzee, among others, has appeared on the radar of the Serie A leaders and they’re said to be keeping an eye on the development of the Netherlands U21 international.

Joshua Zirkzee joined Bologna from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022, in a deal worth around €8.5m. This season the former Anderlecht attacker has been impressive for the side that are currently 11th in Serie A. Zirkzee is currently valued at around €20m.

Zirkzee kicked off his career in the ADO Den Haag youth academy before moving to Feyenoord’s youth set up. In 2017 he was signed by Bayern Munich, where, after rising through the ranks, he eventually made 17 appearances for the first team, scoring four goals. Loan moves to Parma and Anderlecht followed, before he eventually found his permanent home with Bologna. Joshua Zirkzee could be on the move again in January if AC Milan come calling.
